Introduction

Nanjing, the capital city of Jiang Su with a population of 4.5 million people, is located at the lower delta of Yangtze River. In the west of Nanjing is the vast inland of Jiang Huai, while the east is the vast plain of Chang Jiang.

Nanjing was once the capital of six dynasties. They were Eastern Wu (222-280), Eastern Jin (317-420), Southern Song(420-479), Qi(479-502), Liang(502-557), Chen(557-589)

Due to its long history, Nanjing has many rich historical buildings. Such as Dr Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum, Ming Xiao Ling Mausoleum and Memorial of the Nanjing Massacre

Qinhuao River

Qinhuai River is divided into the inner and outer tributaries. The inner tributary flows through Nanjing City, and from the Five Dynasties it has got a good name of " Gold Powder of the Five Dynasties" and "10-li Qinhuai River". Countless tourists come to visit Qinhuai River by the Confucius Temple. An outstanding woman of the Ming Dynasty Li Xiangjun's Meixiang Building is situated on the Shixian Street along the river. The poem "Wuyi Lane" by Liu Yuxi, a famous poet of the Tang Dynasty, refers to this area.

Dr Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum

Located in the eastern suburb part of Nanjing and occupy an area of 133 hectares. It is the burial place of Dr Sun Yat Sen.
